Farabundo Marti

• 1. Where was Marti born and where did he attend school? Marti was born in Teotepeque Departament de la Libertad, El salvador.

• 2. What did Marti major in and why did he drop out of college? He decide to drop out of his political science and jurisprudence degree at the University of El Salvador to fight for his community and nation.

• 3. Why was Marti arrested? He was arrested for taking part along with other students in a protest.

• 4. When he returned to El Salvador after being in exile, he helped found the Socorro Rojo internacional party. What did this political party stand for? Socorro Rojo internacional, was and alternative to the red cross. Their goal was to help the poor and the underprivileged with a socialist ideology.

• 5. After returning to El Salvador after his second exile, who did Marti organize to start a revolution? The indigenous farmers.

La Matanza was a rebellion in 1932 in Guatemala is was a mixture of protest and insurrection and ended in ethnocide claiming the lives of any where between 10,000 and 4,0000 peasants and other civilians, many of them indigenous people.
